Sales and Engineering Manager

Opportunity:

We seek a talented Sales professional with a strong Engineering background - ideally in plastics or metal stamping - to join Dial Tool Industries, LLC

We invite you to help define and drive TRANSFORMATIONAL GROWTH at our facilities. You will be working with successful and stable businesses in a critical niche of stamping and injection molded components. The opportunity and resources are present to double, triple, or quadruple the business at Dial Tool Industries (DTI). Although the fundamentals have been established, the endeavor will require meeting challenges and stretching the business from its comfort zone.   • LEADERSHIP of ~3 direct reports, involving, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Quoting and Pricing.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - develop and drive transformational business behavior, process and growth within the DTI businesses.

Responsibilities:

The Sales and Engineering manager will report to the DTI GM, lead, and inspire a team of 3 Engineers and Sales professionals.

In this role, the Sales and Engineering Manager will lead their team to achieve increased sales throughout the business platforms by defining and enhancing the customer experience through increased customer engagement and ownership. The Sales and Engineering Manager will make a personal investment in developing employees to nurture a culture based on respect, teamwork, humility, integrity, and results. The position will be responsible for creating a sales vision and direction within the organization and team.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to:

  1. Direct and manage all aspects of Commercial channel process to include but not limited to, (Market, Business Development, Engineering, Quoting, Pricing and Customer relations).

Responsible for defining and achieving budgeted

  • Deliver and communicate weekly Funnel Scorecard
  • Drive budgeted and forecasted Sales
  • Define and Implement Market and BD strategies as needed

Facilitate product launches and ensure milestones are met

  • On-time product launches and on-budget costing and productivity

Responsibility

Define and drive sales and engineering tools and process

  • Identify improvement opportunities and manage sites.
  • Implement, tools such as CRM, Prospecting tools and Enhanced SEO and Website performance.
  • Build quality, customer data and engagement processes.

Define Markets and open new customers and industries to ensure growth objectives for the business despite unknowable challenges

  • Hire and develop succession and cross-training capability.
  • Set vision, train and develop current team

  • Lead long-term site and process integration in the area of Sales and Quoting

Coach, engage, and direct staff to deliver Sales and Revenue targets that meet or exceed expectations

  • Regular communication of updates, strategies, and results to Senior management team, staff, and plant employees
  • Engage with teams to understand skills and capabilities in order to match with customer needs
  • Cross train and Develop succession plans as needed

  • Clearly define and communicate objectives and expectations while driving cultural change throughout organization.
  • Drive Continuous proactive customer communication and engagement across the customer base.
  1. Develop a world class business development process and deployment of team and resources in executing the Sales Strategy for DTI both near-term and the long-term:
    1. Work with the DTI business leaders to develop plans and tools for growing the businesses.
    2. Efficiently lead and manage implementation of strategy across the organization through to the customers.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate's educational background will include an undergraduate degree in engineering, operations management, business, a MBA would be ideal. Proven experience in delivering sales growth. (5 plus years or sales experience). Experience in pricing and quoting in a technical product line. Experience with Marketing and Business Development tools and processes. Past hands-on experience with SEO and Website development and maintenance. Computer skills using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
