Quality Control Manager - Job Description

Gas Compression Systems, Inc. seeks a Quality Control Manager to support gas booster manufacturing operations in Bensenville, IL. The QC manager reports to the Shop Manager who outlines priorities and provides guidance. The QC manager leads inspection activities required to produce parts that conform to the tolerances specified in the engineering drawing. He/she ensures measurement tools are used and calibrated according to plan. The QC Manager also reports to the COO in an advisory role to conduct quality audits and sign-off on corrective actions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct first piece, in-process, and final inspections as requested
• Perform visual inspections including burrs, cracks, orientation of features, cleanliness, surface defects, etc.
• CMM operation and programming
• Oversee calibration equipment tuning and logging
• Act as an auditor for internal quality audits
• Conduct corrective action review, follow up and sign-off
• Assists with part cleaning, marking, and packing
• Follow OSHA rules and regulations for safety

Requirements:

• Aptitude for Math and Problem Solving
• Basic Computer Skills
• Blueprint Reading
• Ability to maintain and use calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Bensenville, IL 60106: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
