Plant Manager - Job Description

We have an outstanding opportunity available for an experienced leader to manage our Plant operations. The individual we seek will report to the General Manager and will have an extensive background in both manufacturing and management.

Responsibilities will include:

• Drive to meet organizational goals by providing effective direction, counseling and training.
• Manage production operations to ensure scheduled workflow and use of personnel, machines, and facilities and address problems obstructing production.
• Develop improved manufacturing methods, layouts, equipment and techniques and submit recommendations for approval.
• Direct maintenance of physical condition of equipment and initiate fixed capital requests when the action appears economic or appropriate.
• Consult with management team regarding potential union/labor problems and potential solutions. Serve as representative during union contract negotiations.
• Provide direction and guidance to Production Control, Engineering, and Shift Supervisors.
• Develop and manage plant budgets and plans, and oversee capital projects that drive continuous improvement and growth.
• Manage programs that lead to improved safety, higher quality, lower costs, and increased operational initiatives.
• Responsible for the manufacturing execution of the ERP system.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, with a strong quality and process improvement focus.
• 10+years in manufacturing with broad exposure to engineering and manufacturing supervision in a production machine shop or related experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate a workforce and develop strong management teams that encourage and drive employee involvement and engagement.
• Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
