CNC Set-up/Programmer

Up to $35.00 per hour

Job requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 - 3 yrs. of CNC machine shop experience (job shop or production environment). Our company utilizes a variety of Vertical or Lathe centers as well as Bar Feed Lathes with live tooling (Mazak, HAAS, Citizen) Must be experienced with on-going set-ups and helping manage in process inspections.
  • Must have experience with set-ups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new machining processes to produce new parts or parts that have yet to be produced on the CNC equipment. Review part prints to identify tooling and fixture needs, developing new fixtures or altering existing fixtures as needed. Complete initial setup and troubleshoot the new process.
  • Set-up and install tooling necessary for parts production as directed by the Machining Team Leader. This involves obtaining tooling from the tool storage area, installing in any of the special production machines in the prescribed manner, and making adjustments to produce parts within stated manufacturing tolerances.
  • Check first piece dimensions after set-up to assure conformance with engineering prints and quality standards. Use a variety of measuring instruments, i.e. micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, plug and ring gages, etc.
  • Advise management of spare parts required for repairs to equipment and tooling. Perform simple repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in his/her immediate area of responsibility.
  • Assure strict adherence to company safety standards.
  • Collects, records, and maintains accurate CNC programs and other production related information and/or data as required.
