Position Overview

We're hiring a Forklift Operator to load and unload trucks and move materials around the yard. This is an outdoor role, and you'll be working in all types of weather. It's fast-paced, physical, and essential to keeping operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate a forklift to load/unload scrap metal from trucks
• Transport and stage materials around the outdoor yard
• Assist drivers during pickups and drop-offs
• Inspect equipment and report any issues
• Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized
• Communicate closely with the yard team and scale operator

What We're Looking For

• Forklift experience preferred (especially in scrap or industrial settings)
• Understanding of scrap materials and metal types
• Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and all kinds of Chicago weather
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to work
• Willing to pitch in beyond forklift duties when needed
• Strong team mentality and pride in keeping things running smooth

Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM
