Tool & Die Maker - Job Description

Frankfort Machine & Tool, Inc, a tool and die shop based in Frankfort, Illinois, is looking for a full-time Tool & Die Maker to join their team. Do you have at least 4 years of experience with progressive stamping die, wire EDM, injection molding and/or Forging Die? Are you a Tool Maker or Tool Room Machinist and have a solid understanding of machine shops and manufacturing? Do you work well in a team setting and also possess the ability to effectively complete your job with little to no supervision?

The Tool & Die Maker will read and understand prints, repair and clean tooling as well as keep up with the routine maintenance of the tooling. He or she will plan a sequence of operations and perform one or more setups to accomplish required machining operations. The ideal candidate can use SolidWorks and CAM software and is self-motivated and hard-working.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Reading and understanding prints;
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting, to setup machine shop equipment and the ability to fabricate machine parts and tooling;
• Inspecting tools for damage and wear and providing routing maintenance of tools;
• Using die lifter, lift truck, overhead crane, and related equipment to lift, move and handle die;
• Solid understanding of SolidWorks and CAM software as well familiarity with AutoCad, CamWorks, or Espirit.

Salary: $26.00-$34.00 per hour.

• Die maintenance: 4 years (Preferred)
