Job Title: Accounting Intern

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated seasonal Accounting Intern to join our team at our Wauconda, IL location. This role will provide hands-on experience in financial operations within a small distribution company. The intern will assist with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and bookkeeping while gaining valuable exposure to the distribution industry's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
• Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger
• Support month-end closing procedures
• Help process invoices, payments, and expense reports
• Conduct bank and account reconciliations
• Organize and maintain financial records and documentation
• Assist in preparing sales tax filings and compliance reports
• Provide administrative support for the accounting and finance team

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with inventory accounting or distribution-related finance
• Knowledge of ERP or accounting software used in distribution businesses
• Prior internship or coursework related to financial accounting
