Job Summary:

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a variety of CNC machines, including ZUND digital cutting systems, as well as other non-CNC machines and power tools to produce precision samples and components. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC machinery, particularly ZUND systems, and a strong understanding of machining processes with a keen eye for detail.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate ZUND CNC machines and other equipment according to production specifications and schedules.
  • Load raw materials into CNC machines and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
  • Keep detailed records of equipment and procedures
  • Perform necessary maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products.
  • Inspect the finished product to ensure it meets the required specifications
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Document production activities, including setup sheets, tool changes, and production logs.
  • Collaborate with area leads, managers, and other team members to optimize production processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC operation or machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with ZUND CNC machine operation, setup, and maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and understand geometrical dimensions and tolerances (DG&T).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and organization skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a noisy environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to push, pull, or move items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
