Planner - Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Production Planner 

REPORTS TO: Materials Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, scheduling and purchasing of a product line.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Use ERP to maintain inventory levels. Knowledge of ERP is necessary.

• Work with outside vendors to meet our pricing and delivery dates.

• Schedule and maintain shop orders internally to meet the due dates.

• Quote special delivery requests from sales 

• Maintain inventory levels as directed by Management.

• Fill in as backup for scheduling/purchasing other product lines when needed.

• Contact suppliers regarding adjustments, incorrect material, delivery and other service issues.

• Extensive contact with managers, supervisors, and suppliers.

• Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: High school degree or equivalent work experience with advanced training. A minimum 1-2 year's experience required.

2. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office requirements

3. LICENSES REQUIRED: None

4. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

   1. Visual Acuity: No special requirements.

   2. Hearing Ability: No special requirements.

   3. Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
