Maintenance Manager - Job Description
The RoleIf it runs, spins, pumps, or powers up - you keep it running. As our Maintenance Manager, you own the health of the plant: the production equipment, the building systems, and every piece of infrastructure in between. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who likes to solve real problems, work with their hands, and see the results of their work every single shift. You will not be stuck behind a desk. You will not be micromanaged. You will be trusted to make the calls that keep production moving and your team safe. What a Week Looks Like- Walking the floor, catching problems before they catch you.
- Diagnosing a mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic issue and getting a machine back up before it costs a shift.
- Running the PM schedule so breakdowns become rare, not routine.
- Coordinating an outside contractor on a bigger job - writing the scope, checking the work, making sure it is done right.
- Handling the building itself when it needs you: a roof leak, a plumbing fix, an electrical issue, floors, paint, HVAC filters.
- Keeping the parts room stocked so the right spare is on the shelf when you need it.
- Working alongside the operations team on safety, ISO, and lean improvements that actually stick.
What You Bring- Solid troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems - you can read a machine and figure out what it is telling you.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Comfort reading schematics, technical documents, shipping paperwork, and safety procedures.
- Current forklift certification and working knowledge of hoists and cranes.
- OSHA fundamentals: lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PPE, emergency response (or the willingness to get there quickly).
- Basic computer skills for email, work orders, and everyday documentation.
- A safety-first mindset and the judgment to know when to fix it yourself and when to call in help.
Nice to Have- Trade school, technical certificate, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical tech, or similar.
- Experience running a preventive maintenance program or CMMS.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, 5S, lean, or TPM.
- Welding, machining, or PLC exposure.
What You Get Back- A leadership role with real autonomy - you run the maintenance function, not a checklist.
- A stable, established operation where your work is visible and valued.
- Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement with company contribution, paid time off, paid holidays).
- Competitive pay that reflects the experience you bring.
- Continued training and certifications on the company dime - we want you to grow.
- A crew that shows up, takes pride in the work, and has each other's backs.
The Honest PartThis is a real shop. Expect noise, metal, oil, solvents, and the occasional long day when something critical goes down. You will be on your feet, using your hands, and moving around the plant most of the shift. You will lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Your vision needs to be good enough - with or without correction - to read gauges, schematics, and fine print, and to work safely around moving equipment. PPE is provided and required. If that sounds like your kind of environment, we should talk.
