Full Job description:

We are seeking an individual to begin their career as a plastic injection mold-maker. The ideal candidate will have a good mechanical aptitude and a curious disposition towards how things work. The individual will be interested in using their hands and building things. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending mold-making trade school which will be funded by Tri-Par provided successful completion of attendance and all class work. We are looking for a creative problem solver who is interested in learning a variety of machining methods, materials and tools.

As an apprentice mold-maker you will be exposed to fascinating, challenging and dynamic work. You will learn about and the practical application of metrology, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, fluid dynamics, mathematics, material science, project management, robotics/automation, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM), precision and high speed machining.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and comply with all safety rules.
  • Learn and apply machining techniques on CNC and manual mills, EDM, surface grinders and lathes.
  • Learn and apply the ability to precisely measure work using a variety of precision measuring tools and techniques.
  • Learn and create molds from a variety of materials.
  • Learn the properties of different metals and plastics.
  • Learn, read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Inspect molds for defects and make necessary adjustments/repairs.
  • Complete projects in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Demonstrated reliability
  • Some Math skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
