AI Intern: Business Systems & User Enablement

Location: Hybrid, on site at Wauconda, IL and remote Duration: Summer 2026; part time 32 hours/per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and technically curious AI Intern to support the rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of AI tools across the organization. This role blends hands-on user support, training, and light technical work to ensure employees can effectively and securely use modern AI-enabled systems.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with people, solving problems, and learning how technology connects to real business processes.

Key Responsibilities

User Training & Support

  • Deliver short demos, onboarding sessions, and 1:1 support for AI tools and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Create simple user guides, quick reference sheets, and how-to documentation
  • Respond to user questions, triage issues, and follow basic help desk workflows (document, escalate, resolve)

Microsoft 365 & IT Fundamentals

  • Support users with Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and OneNote
  • Troubleshoot common issues such as login problems, permissions, browser/profile issues, and add-ins

AI & Technical Enablement

  • Assist in building and improving AI workflows, agents, and repeatable processes
  • Support prompt design and automation initiatives
  • Apply light coding (primarily Python) to support structured workflows and experimentation

Identity, Access & Security Awareness

  • Help troubleshoot access-related issues involving SSO, MFA, and permissions
  • Partner with IT on rollout and governance best practices

Data Literacy & Systems Thinking

  • Understand where data lives, how it moves between systems, and appropriate use with AI tools
  • Support basic data tasks; exposure to SQL Server or similar tools is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with end users
  • Experience or coursework involving:
  • Microsoft 365 applications
  • Python or similar scripting languages
  • Basic IT troubleshooting concepts
  • Databases or structured datasets
